Decommissioning Programme
Decommissioning Programme
When plans have been defined, CNR International (U.K.) Limited (CNRI) will submit Draft Decommissioning Programmes to the Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning (OPRED), part of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). These submissions trigger statutory and public consultations which will be conducted by CNRI alongside regulatory consultations undertaken by OPRED.
The Draft Decommissioning Programmes for the Ninian Central Topsides and Associated Riser Sections are the subject of a consultation which runs from 17 September to 16 October 2026. To formally comment on the proposals, please email carol.barbone@cnrl.com by 16 October 2026 stating the capacity in which you are responding.
The final Ninian Southern Topsides Draft Decommissioning Programme was given Regulatory approval in February 2026.
Other decommissioning programmes, for the Ninian Southern Lower Jacket and Footings, the Ninian Central Concrete Gravity Based Substructure and for Subsea infrastructure (multiple programmes) will be the subject of later consultations, together with relevant supporting documents such as comparative assessment reports, environmental appraisals and stakeholder reports. These will be made available in the Documentation Library for the Ninian Hub as they are published.
