The Murchison Platform was located offshore on the United Kingdom Continental Shelf, Northern North Sea, in Block 211/19 on a field straddling UK / Norwegian waters. The platform had topside modules for drilling, production and accommodation, supported on 8-legged jackets of steel construction.
Oil was exported onshore to Sullom Voe, Shetland. Gas export / import was available via the FLAGS line (Far North Liquids and Gas System).
